Anyone who can write a song around 23 helping verbs and name every preposition in a jingle is pretty much a rock star in my book.

"A sentence, sentence, sentence is complete, complete, complete when five simple rules it meets, meets, meets!"

Kendra,

That looks like a good one! I checked it out! I need specifics as my 12 year old appears to place commas by where they strike his artistic eye as being asthetically pleasing.

We use Mavis Beacon, have for years, though Dance Mat typing (free online) is good for the under 8 crowd. We also use Rosetta Stone for Latin, which is just funny since Rosetta Stone is an immersion program and Latin is a dead language. Go figure.

Jack does Thinkwell's PreCalc and we like that pretty well.

We love the free history games available at the BBC website and we love the freebies at brainpop and brainpop jr. Houghton Mifflin's free Power Proofreading website for grades 2-8 is a fun grammar drill. We get a free science experiment emailed to us each week from krampf.com.

I really enjoy ClickSchooling's free ezine because they send you a free educational link every day and follow the same rotation each week so you get math, science, social studies, language arts, fine arts and a virtual fieldtrip each week.

I have oodles more that I like, but also a crying baby--maybe more later!

Blessings, HollyHollyhttp://www.homeschoolblogger.com/ohioholnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5231571105328335722.post-82510914011156953962010-03-25T13:41:41.060-05:002010-03-25T13:41:41.060-05:00Great post! I had not heard of the spelling one... they all look good. We have been using the computer more and more, the boys really enjoy it.Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05161235843256631968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5231571105328335722.post-89994050856112077722010-03-25T12:57:02.805-05:002010-03-25T12:57:02.805-05:00Lynn, it seems like homeschooling should be one wo...Lynn, it seems like homeschooling should be one word, but my spell check always marks it. So, I change it to two. So... even home schooling can't help with learning how to spell homeschool.

Laurel, the kids love playing with Jumpstart, too. We have a version for our computer and they loved it so much they used their Christmas money to buy a Jumpstart Wii game.everydayMOMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05812990338739856399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5231571105328335722.post-15744223691788905842010-03-25T12:36:12.044-05:002010-03-25T12:36:12.044-05:00You make home schooling so awesome & fun! Our daughter uses it more now than our son (it's for First Graders too tho so a little behind where he's at in Grade 3). That Spelling City & Mavis Beacon look great tho, might have to use them...
LaurelAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5231571105328335722.post-48897440086511182102010-03-25T11:13:21.146-05:002010-03-25T11:13:21.146-05:00Emily, you are doing an amazing job with the home ...Emily, you are doing an amazing job with the home schooling!
