Counting days

"How many more days, Mom?"

That seems to be the question everyday. How many more days?

Well... it's been 23 weeks, and we have 119 days to go.

I hate counting down the days of my life like this, but I just can't seem to stop. For each day I add to the expired days pile, I seem to lose a little more energy and a few more brain cells. For each day on the days to go side, something new begins to hurt and I feel a little extra weight on my body.

Thankfully, we got a new date to count toward: Dec. 3. That will most likely be the day I will schedule my C-Section. It's the earliest my doctor will possibly deliver the baby since that puts me at 39 weeks. I like that date because it has some numeric elements that will make it easy for me to remember: 12-03-09. 12-3=9. See?

We have so many other important dates to look forward to before then though:
The first day of school
Two children's birthdays in September
One more in November
My parent's 50th wedding anniversary
Our wedding anniversary
Thanksgiving

And today!!

What are some of the dates that you are counting down to in your life?

  4. My husband likes those numeric devices, too. That's why he can't remember the code to our garage!

Whenever I was pregnant, I would make sure to have other things to look forward to before the big day, to alleviate the waiting.

Right now, I'm counting the days until Saturday. Honestly, I need a night out with the ladies. And after that, I'm counting the days until just before #5's birthday, because all the family is coming to town just for him. :)

Soon after that, we're going to Six Flags. Yahooooooo!

That's my next month or so. Aren't you glad you asked?

  5. 119 days to go!? Does that seem like a long time or just the right amount of time? I bet it feels good to know a date.

Oh, this is a good question. I am not sure if I am counting the days to anything, really. I am (I guess) taking note of how many days until my son starts kindergarten. I'm dreading that, though. I am just not ready.

I do have some friends coming in town next weekend. I am really looking forward to that!

  6. I think for once we really aren't counting down the days to anything. I would say for the last 4 years I have been waiting for something, counting down until something. Due dates, quit dates, last day, first day, new baby. The house is on the market but that is indefinite so I don't really count down to that. It is good to just live, but I think time goes by faster. We have a busy fall and winter coming up with birthdays but that isn't a bad thing.

  7. Steve and Jill live in Olney. Jill has three girls, Jennifer, Jacie and Julie from her first marriage. They have been together for at least three years, maybe longer. Steve is the first person Jill dated after her divorce. They "met" through Jill's brother Joey who is a barber. Hmmm...what else? Mark Runyon's wife Marcia will be Jill's matron of honor and then her girls will be standing up with her. Brother Dan will be Steve's best man. Wedding is t St. Joe...one of those long, Catholic, sit, kneel, stand, kneel, sing and touch your nose at the same time kind of weddings! Knowing Steve and Jill and the girls, there will be lots of giggling during the ceremony!!!
It will be fun! I like nothing more than seeing family and friends happy!
    :)
