Cucumber pasta salad

I have so many favorite recipes, but I often have to go on a search to find them when I need them.

Some are in cookbooks. Others are on the Internet. And others are stored on little pieces of paper tucked somewhere in the cabinet.

Recently, I've started using my own blog to find recipes that I have published here. So, today's post is written for myself! I can never remember where I originally found this recipe on the Internet and have to go on a big Google search each time I want to make it. Now I'll be able to find it!

This pasta salad has a great flavor. The original recipe said to use 3 Tbsp. of the Salad Supreme, but I have always used 1 Tbsp. because I'm cautious that way.

Cucumber Pasta Salad

Ingredients

1 box Bowtie pasta

1-2 Cucumbers

4 Green onions

1-1/2 c. Miracle Whip

3 tbsp Vinegar

1 tbsp Salad Supreme (in spice isle)

1/2 c. Sugar

Salt & pepper to taste

Preparation

Prepare pasta and drain. Slice cucumbers and green onions, and toss with pasta. Combine remaining ingredients and mix into pasta. Serve cold.

How do you organize your favorite recipes so you can find them when you need them?

I have lots of recipes written on various scraps of paper, none of them uniform. This weekend I had to search for a recipe for BBQ lil-weenies. I knew it was on a green scrap, I just had to find it.I did find it, but then proceeded to completely disregard the recipe and concoct my own. :-)

I love your idea--I think I'll do the same. I have several different cookbooks, recipe cards, and printouts from the computer. I wish I was more organized...one of my new year's resolutions. :) I've become so linked to my computer, it would be much better to have my favorites right here!

And this recipe looks like a keeper--I'll remember I saw it here and try it soon!

I may have to try this one. I am so glad I am not the only one that is able to benefit from posting recipes. I was so thrilled to look up some of my own recipes when I was traveling. Well, who am I kidding? It is quite handy to find them quickly on the blog when I am at home, too!

This looks really yummy! I love this post because I had to call Mike at work yesterday and have him get on a website to find a recipe for me because I was missing ONE ingredient and I couldn't remember what it was! What would we do without the internet?

Have you ever tried fat free or reduced fat mayo? Just wondering if it effects the taste a lot. This salad is delicious; I think I had three servings the other night!

I haven't tried low-fat mayo in that recipe... I know where you are coming from with the fat, but I'm trying to avoid what happens to food when they overly process it to make it fat free. Real mayo includes Omega 3, which is what we (in our family) are trying to get IN to our bodies... it's always something, huh?
